Why a guide matters

Every family deserves a knowledgeable guide — not a system to navigate alone.

When a parent's health or independence begins to decline, families suddenly face a labyrinth: conflicting medical advice, confusing insurance claims, a myriad of prescriptions, government programs with opaque eligibility rules, housing decisions with life-altering implications, and legal documents that may not be in order. We provide the expert navigation that turns an overwhelming situation into a manageable process.

What we do

Comprehensive elder-care planning, care-plan oversight and execution.

We coordinate every aspect of care so you don't!

Care Navigation & Coordination

Coordinate doctors and specialists, attend medical appointments, oversee health and long-term care insurance practices, and manage transitions from hospital to rehab to home.

Government Benefits Navigation

Connecting with our local experts who specialize in NJ Medicaid and JACC enrollment, Medicare appeals, VA Aid & Attendance applications, NJ SHIP counseling, and HEAP/SNAP enrollment for eligible seniors.

Housing Advocacy

Assess “aging-in-place” viability at home. Evaluate options and tour assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing residences; negotiate admission terms; monitor quality of care.

Legal & Financial Coordination

Assemble elder-care law partners and financial-planning teams; organize the essential documents — POA, healthcare proxy, advance directives (DNR/POLST), will, and trust; identify and report financial exploitation.

Insurance Navigation

Medicare Part A, B, C, and D plan review; appeal denials; Medigap comparison; long-term-care insurance claim filing and appeals; coordination of benefits across carriers.

Banking & Financial Oversight

Bill-pay organization, account monitoring for anomalies or exploitation, and fraud-alert setup; coordination with trust officers, tax preparers, and financial advisors on retirement accounts (IRA/401k) and required distributions.

Crisis & Transition Management

Crisis management, rapid response during hospitalization, emergency discharge planning, and interim and long-term care coordination.

Estate & End-of-Life Support

Hospice liaison, pre-need funeral coordination, post-death administrative checklist, and estate-settlement task management in partnership with your estate attorney.

Remote Family Consultation and Support

Zoom, FaceTime, and phone consultations — anywhere in the country or abroad. Implementation of AgeTech products and services (security cameras, remotely controlled/automated in-home communications, entertainment, and medical devices).

How it works

A clear, compassionate process.

We begin by listening, then create a personalized plan together — one that reflects our agreed-upon goals and addresses every aspect of care, from medical and financial needs to spiritual and social well-being.

01

Initial Family Assessment

A 2–3 hour in-person or video consultation to understand your parent's situation across health, housing, legal, financial, and family dimensions. A written action plan follows within five business days.

02

Tailored Engagement Plan

We choose the right scope together: an ongoing monthly retainer, project-based help with a specific challenge, or crisis support. Fees are transparent and agreed upon before work begins.

03

Active Coordination

We engage directly with physicians, agencies, attorneys, facilities, and insurers on your behalf — attending meetings, making calls, filing paperwork, and advocating relentlessly.

04

Ongoing Communication

Regular written updates keep your family informed and aligned. You always have direct access to your advisor — not a call center, not a junior associate.

Why this matters now

The hardest season, at the worst possible time to face alone.

More families are navigating aging than ever before — with fewer people to help and a system that hides its own rules. The numbers tell the story.

11,400+

Americans turn 65 every day — the largest such wave in history.

56%

of people turning 65 today will need long-term care at some point.

6 in 10

families wrongly believe Medicare covers long-term care. It doesn't.

99%

of families who hired a professional care manager would recommend one.

About the practice

Experience you can only earn by living it.

Founded by someone who has been exactly where you are.

Pam Henning spent nearly a decade as the primary caregiver and sole manager for her mother, whose Alzheimer's and physical decline worsened progressively over that time. She did it all — the medical appointments, the insurance appeals, the Medicaid applications, the facility research, the banking oversight, the legal documents, the difficult family conversations, and ultimately the end-of-life transition.

After that experience, one question stayed with her: how do families without a dedicated advocate get through this? Too often the answer is that they don't — they're overwhelmed, they make uninformed decisions, they miss benefits they qualify for, and they carry a burden no one should carry alone. And on top of this learned experience, she is a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA).

Pam founded Lyfestyle Plus to bring this personal and professional expertise, genuine empathy, and a complete fiduciary commitment to every engagement — the quarterback who assembles the right team and makes sure nothing is missed.
